ACON was founded in 1986 for the development of advanced products of key technologies in Taiwan. Today, it is rated among the leading manufacturers of I/O connectors and 3C pheriphal electronic components including Connectors for PC & Peripheral/Communication/Consumer Applications; Micro Coaxial/Customized Cable Assemblies；Antennas；Power Runner, Battery Chargers；Optical Active/Passive Components. For the 19 years old Advanced-Connectek Inc. (ACON), the secret to keep afloat and to leapfrog is to play a leading role in the marketplace by masterminding technologies and churning out new products continually. This non-stop mechanism, in turn, increases ACON's competitiveness. Starting as a stamping and molding manufacturer, ACON developed and excelled plating and assemble technologies to make a large array of connectors. ACON's wide selection of connectors on offer is applicable to mother boards, desktop & notebook computers, PC peripherals, telecommunication-related and hand-held devices. These offerings consist of ribbon type, rectangular and half-pitch connector series, such as D-sub, PCMCIA, DVI, IEEE 1394, USB, MniUSB... To name but a few. Management set its goal to build the ACON brand a household name in I/O applications. In addition to being an OEM/ODM manufacturer, ACON has been active in joining international standards associations and contributes significant design concepts to set standards of future connectors in applications. Its latest effort has been done in establishing the MiniUSB specification from zero base to the significant 0.8 level and moving onto the full specification of 1.0 nowadays at the USB Trade Association -- it is the first time for a Taiwan-based connector company to have the honor make such a significant specification contribution to a U.S.-based standard association.
