T.W. Mackay was founded in the 1930's by Thomas Mackay, with Taylor instruments as the principal line of equipment. Over the years, other instrument lines were added, allowing sales to all spectrums of the process industry. Because of the diversity of industries called upon, other industrial equipment and packaging machinery lines were subsequently added.
Although no division exists, two separate sales groups operate within the company; one concentrating in the industrial field, pulp & paper, petrochemical, mining, municipal, etc., and the other in the food processing and packaging industry.
T.W. Mackay has a total work force of a dozen people - four outside sales people in the industrial division and two in the food processing and packaging industry. The balance of the staff is support, inside sales, accounting, etc.
The majority of the industrial sales team are graduates of BCIT with diplomas in their respective fields; Electrical/Electronics Engineering or Electronics/Instrumentation Process Control.
