Sagarika stepped into the field of content production in the year 1996, when our founder and chairman Mr.Hirak Das started the Bengali music division. Since then we have released over 500 Bengali titles - film and non-film, thus establishing ourselves as the top most music label in West Bengal.

Sagarika then stepped into the Marathi music Industry in the year 1998. Backed by a varied catalogue of over 250 titles comprising of Devotional, folk, modern, bhavgeets, remixes and classical based products, Sagarika has in a very short span of time, succeeded in making an indelible mark in the Marathi music scene.

After establishing ourselves in the Bengali and Marathi regional music markets, Sagarika's thirst for more resulted in the company's rich and mellifluous classical catalogue. In the field of classical music Sagarika has worked with Legends like Ustd.Bismillah Khan, Pt.Bhimsen Joshi, Pt. Jasraj, Pt. Shivkumar Sharma, Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia to name a few.

The next venture into the word of national music was INDI - POP. Here too Sagarika met with instant success. Its first Indi - Pop release "Aika Dajiba" was an instant hit world over and set a fresh trend of Hindi - Marathi Combo music.

Sagarika has also come up with fresh concepts and ideas in all its musical products, be it Classical fusion , remixes or just simple basic songs, Sagarika has always strived to present their songs in the most creative and attractive fashion.

Sagarika holds the distinction of discovering and launching a record number of debutante artistes who have become celebrities in their own right today. Between all its music divisions Sagarika has launched more than 15 new artistes in the last 4 to 5 years. E.G.: Srikanto Acharya, Shilajit, Shreya Ghoshal in Bengali, Avadhoot Gupte, Shreya in Marathi and finally Vaishali Samant and Avadhoot Gupte in Indipop.
